Bangladeshi injured by BSF at Benapole

A Bangladeshi man was injured after being beaten by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at Benapole union at Sarsa Upazila in Jessore on Thursday. The victim is Abdul Malek, 28, son of Arshad Ali of Agrabhulat village. Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 32 Battalion commander Lt Col Abdur Rahim said when Malek along with some friends were returning home through Indian Jhhaudanga border around 5am some BSF chased them and caught Malek at Agrabhulat border point. BSF took Malek to their camp and beat him mercilessly, leaving him injured critically. A company commander-level flag meeting was held at Agrabhulat BGB camp where BSF authorities agreed to return the injured Bangladeshi to BGB, according to a news agency.
