Bangladeshi injured in BSF firing dies in India

A Bangladeshi young man, shot and injured by the members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday in Kurigram’s Shimulbari border, died in a hospital in Cooch Behar district of India’s West Bengal state on Sunday. The dead is Mukul Miah, 25, son of Ismail Hossain, of Paschim Balatari village of Phulbari upazila of Kurigram district. Lt Col Mofazzal Hossain Akand, commanding officer of Balahat Battalion 26 of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) said BSF troops of Boskutal camp of Cooch Behar district fired shots at Mukul in the frontier area before dawn on Saturday, leaving injured by bullets. The BSF men took injured Mukul to the Indian territory. Later, the youth succumbed to his injuries in a hospital there around 4am on Sunday, the BGB official added, according to UNB.
