Bangladeshi lawmakers join parliamentary hearing in IPU

Two Bangladeshi lawmakers participated in a parliamentary hearing titled 'Towards Economic Recovery: Rethinking Development, Retooling Global Governance' held in New York Friday, reports BSS.
International Parlia-mentary Union (IPU) office of the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the United Nations organized the haring, said a message received from the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh to the United Nation.
The lawmakers are Awami League(AL) lawmaker of Gaibandha-2 (Sadar) and member of parliamentary Library Committee Mahbub Ara Begum Gini and BNP lawmaker of Sirajganj (Sadar) and member of the parliamentary standing committee on Ministry of commerce Begum Rumana Mahmud, said a message received here.
The meeting discussed various issues including measures to find out solutions to problems created due to the global financial recession.
Evaluation of the global financial recession, institutional capacity and achievement of Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) also discussed in the meeting.
