Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF in Jhenidah

A Bangladeshi young man was shot to death by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in Moheshpur upazila in Jhenidah district on Tuesday. The dead is Ripon Hossain, 30, son of late Raihan Uddin of Sarishaghata village of the upazila. Sources in the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) said a patrol team of BSF opened fire when Ripon along with others tried to cross the border through Pillar No 61 at Haldarpara around 5:00am on Tuesday. Ripon was hit by bullet and died on the spot. He was involved in cattle trading across the Bangladesh-India border. The body of Ripon was brought to Shreenathpur camp of BGB, according to UNB.
