Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF in Joypurhat

A Bangladeshi man was shot to death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at Panchbibi Upazila in Joypurhat district early Tuesday. The dead is Raju Mia, 25, son of Shahidul Islam of Nandail village. Lieutenant Colonel M Abdur Razzak Tarafdar, Commanding Officer (CO) of BGB Battalion 3 said BSF troops of Mathurapur camp opened fire on a group of Bangladeshi men, including Raju, when he along with other associates entered Indian territory through the Pillar No-278/58 at Korea border point under Panchbibi Upazila for bringing cattle around 3:30am. All but Raju managed to escape. The young man was hit by bullets and died on the spot, according to UNB.
