Bangladeshi shot dead by Indian Khasias

A Bangladeshi was shot dead allegedly by the members of an Indian tribal community in Jaintapur Upazila in Sylhet district on Friday. The dead is Kudrat, 30, a day labourer and son of Asad Ali of Guabari village of Jaintapur. Locals said India’s Khasia tribes opened fire on Kudrat as he was crossing Guabari border point near Pillar No 1293 for collecting logs around 11:00am. He was critically injured by bullets and died a little while later. India’a Border Security Force (BSF) personnel recovered the body and took it away. Harunur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Jaintapur Police Station, said they were investigating the incident, according to a news agency.
