Bangladesh\\\'s external debt stands at $25.90b

The per capita debt has risen by Tk 460 in two years, State Minister for Finance MA Mannan, on behalf of Finance Minister AMA Muhith, told Parliament Thursday, report agencies.
The per capita debt stands at Tk 13,160, according to Mr Mannan.
 Till June 30 of the 2014-5 fiscal year, Bangladesh's external debt (public sector) was $25.908 billion or Tk 2.72 trillion.
 The per capita debt was $169 or Tk 13,160. In June last year, the finance minister told Parliament that Bangladesh's per capita debt was Tk 12,700.
Mr Mannan disclosed this in the Jatiya Sangsad Thursday while replying to a question from Treasury bench member Noorjahan Begum.
The state minister said the country's debt with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) stands Tk 618.5 billion (61,850.56 crore), China Tk 73.56 billion, International Development Association (IDA) Tk 1.02 trillion (1,02,343.50 crore), International Development Bank (IDB) Tk 33.58 billion, Denmark Tk 8.69 billion, Japan Tk 193.76 billion, India Tk 16.57 billion, South Korea Tk 27.91 billion, Kuwait Tk 10.75 billion, IFAD Tk 29.35 billion and others Tk 36.50 billion.
Meanwhile, the country received $ 2,828.9 million in remittance during June and July in the fiscal year 2014-2015.
Mr Mannan disclosed this while replying to another tabled question from Begum Fazilatun Nesa Bappy.
