Banglalink launches Grandmaster idea contest

Banglalink, a mobile phone operator, has initiated Banglalink Grandmaster idea contest- for making a difference. The competition was launched through a press conference in the city Thursday. The competition is an idea generation contest among university students. The idea behind the competition is to utilise the potential of the university going students for the development of the nation. Among others, Professor Dr Mohammad Kaykobad, Professor Dr Abdul Hannan Chowdhury, VAS Associate General Manager (Marketing) of Banglalink Qauser Zaman and Marketing Director of Banglalink Shihab Ahmad were present at the conference. During the first phase of the competition, projects will be collected from the students and 20 of these projects will be short listed based on pre-defined criteria. The major criteria will be: Number of people to be benefitted, Innovativeness, User friendliness, Technical Feasibility and Commercial Feasibility. These top 20 groups will have the opportunity for a day-long training session which will help these students to develop feasible solutions. Upon receiving training they will submit a detailed business plan of their concept which will be provided to a panel of judges; the panel will include Professor Dr Mohammad Kaykobad, Professor Dr Abdul Hannan Chowdhury and Vas Associate General Manager (Marketing) of Banglalink Qauser Aman. The competition will conclude with the grand finale on which groups will present their projects and the judge panel will select the top three. The top teams will be awarded with cash prizes: Tk 0.20 million, Tk 0.15 million and Tk 0.10 million respectively. - Press release
