banglalink posts revenue of Tk 9.26b in Q3

banglalink, country's one of the leading telecom operators, ended the quarter (as of Sept 2007) with over 6.0 million subscribers and posted a year-to-date revenue of Tk 9.26 billion.
Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH), the holding company of banglalink, recently announced its 3rd quarter financial results for 2007.
banglalink's subscriber base and revenue have more than doubled over the past 12 months as the subscriber base was 2.7 million and revenue was Tk 4.40 billion for the corresponding period last year.
The revenue for 3rd quarter (Jul-Sep 2007) was about Tk 3.85 billion. The telecom operator also consolidated its number two position in the market in terms of revenue.
While other major players in the market have been experiencing stagnant revenues over the past few quarters. The company has been maintaining a healthy upward trend. The substantial growth is based on the overwhelming response to the operator's products and services. It is fuelled by heavy infrastructure investment that amounts to Tk 16.07 billion during the first three quarters.
banglalink Chief Executive Officer Rashid Khan said: "We have been investing heavily to enhance the level of our service both in terms of network quality and customer service.
Since the beginning of this year, Banglalink added over 2.7 million subscribers to its base until September.
