banglalink travel, tourism fair concludes

A three-day banglalink Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair 2007 organised by the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) concluded in the city recently. banglalink partnered the TOAB for the three day fair by being the sole sponsor.
The closing ceremony was presided over by banglalink Director (Marketing) Omer Rashid. TOAB President Hasan Mansur, TOAB Adviser Hakim Ali, Parjatan Corporation Chairman Hafizur Rahman Bhuiyan, Government of Tripura Commissioner (Department of Tourism) Nepal Chandra Sinha, Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam Himangshu S Das, Bangladesh Biman Airlines Corporation Managing Director MA Momen and Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Secretary Shaikh Altaf Ali were also present on the occasion, among others.
The fair was inaugurated by Adviser MA Matin. The aim of the fair was to promote tourism and it featured over 80 stalls from tour operators, travel agents, hotels, resorts, airlines, foreign government tourist offices, travel magasines and representatives of the entire tourism industry.
The tourist offices of the governments of Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Assam and other countries also participated. Every day a total of 15 different raffle prizes on entrance tickets were given away.
As part of the fair there was a seminar on "Responsible Tourism" as well as a presentation on the Sundarban Forest at which visitors and exhibitors participated. banglalink has been continually committed to such efforts with activities such as their ongoing beach cleaning programme in Cox Bazaar, airport development through increasing passenger facilities and beautification and their responsible tourism awareness campaign.
