Bank Asia holds fifth EGM

Bank Asia Limited (BAL) held its fifth extraordinary general meeting (EGM) at the City Grand Hall of Bashundhara City Saturday, said a press release.
Bank Asia Chairman Anisur Rahman Sinha presided over the meeting.
Also present at the EGM were BAL Vice-chairman Anwarul Amin, directors Romo Rouf Chowdhury, Shameem Chowdhury, Farhana Huq Chowdhury and Faisal Samad, and President and Managing Director Syed Anisul Huq.
A large number of shareholders of the bank took part in the meeting.
The EGM approved the proposal for construction of the bank's own building at Kawran Bazar in the city jointly with Enterprise Asia.
The meeting also approved the amendments of certain provisions of the Articles of Association of the Bank and under the amended Articles, the classification of shareholders of the bank as 'sponsor shareholders' and 'public shareholders' will no longer exist.
