Bank Asia offers scholarship to meritorious students

As a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Bank Asia Limited has offered higher studies scholarships to the meritorious students at Cahtkhil in Noakhali Saturday, said a press release.
Bank Asia Director Rumme A Hossain gave away the scholarships' money among the meritorious students at a function organised by the bank's Chatkhil branch.
Shyma Pada Das, additional divisional commissioner, Chittagong, SM Shaheen Parvez and UNO of Chatkhil, Sazzad Hossain Chowdhury, vice chairman of Chatkhil Upazila were present, among others, on the occasion.
A large number of local people, students, teachers, journalists, businessmen and elite attended the function.
A total of 42 students were selected for Bank Asia higher studies scholarships for the year 2010.
Introduced in 2005, the scholarship with 4-5 years' duration has so far been given to 122 students who were pursuing higher studies in different reputed educational institutions of the country including BUET, Dhaka Medical College, Chittagong Medical College, Dhaka University, Chittagong University, and Agricultural University etc.
