Bank Asia signs MoU with BPO

Bank Asia Ltd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh Post Office (BPO) in the city recently.
Erfanuddin Ahmed, president and managing director of Bank Asia Ltd, and Mobasherur Rahman, director general of Bangladesh Post Office, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
Under the MoU, Bank Asia will be using designated outlets of Bangladesh Post Office to channellise remittance payments electronically.
Bank Asia has arrangements with more than 20 exchange houses and remittance focused organisations spread all over the world and channellising remittances through more than 1500 locations within Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Post Office is on the threshold of launching electronic money order and fund transfer services and has signed MoUs with several banks in this connection, according to a press release.
