The second "Bank and Non Bank Financial Institutions Fair" will kick off today (Thursday) at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel in the city.
Mashiur Rahman, adviser to the Prime Minister and Governor of Bangladesh Bank Atiur Rahman are expected to inaugurate the three-day fair at 11:00am at the hotel premises.
This was disclosed at a press conference at Sheraton Hotel Tuesday.
General Manager of the hotel Trevor Robert MacDonald said the fair is being organised with a view to create opportunities for the stakeholders to have direct interactions with the products and services of the banks and non-banking financial institutions.
Besides, the clients will get scope to know the latest services offered by the banks and financial institutions on their products and services, he added.
"After successfully organising the first Bank and Non-Bank Financial Institution Fair and Share Bazar Mela in 2008, this will be another step of Dhaka Sheraton Hotel to strengthen its event management capacity," said Mahfuzur Rahman, Director of Sales and Marketing of Dhaka Sheraton Hotel.
"We are expecting huge responses from both the country's financial institutions and consumers at the fair, where banks, insurance and leasing companies will showcase their products and services at the fair once again."
Over 33,000 visitors visited the first fair held in 2008, he said.
Organisers hope the visitors will get a chance to learn more about modern banking and financial products and counseling during the three-day fair.
