Banker shot at, fatally injured

Unknown gunmen shot and wounded a banker at Paribagh in the city Wednesday morning, police said.
The criminals shot at Standard Chartered Bank provisional officer Airin Sultana (29), wife of Mahbubur Rahman, from behind when she was going to her Panthapath office by a rickshaw at about 9:45am.
Airin was fatally wounded in the incident.
The reason behind the shooting could not be known immediately.
"It's not an incident of mugging as her hand bag and mobile phone set were not snatched away. We're investigating the matter," Sub-Inspector of Shahbagh police station Abdul Qayum told the FE.
The victim was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment.
