\\\'Bankers should have adequate knowledge on computer\\\'

Speakers at a discussion have said the bankers should have adequate knowledge on computer and ICT applications for enhancing their professional efficiency in modern banking sector. They mentioned that no bankers can attain professional success without knowledge on fundamental computer literacy and its proper applications. They were addressing the closing and certificate-giving session of a five-day training course titled "Computer Fundamental and Banking Application Software" for some branch managers and second officers of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) at its central computer lab in Rajshahi. RAKUB’s ICT Division organised the course with the main thrust of making the branch managers and other officers concerned competent and efficient in computer software and its applications. RAKUB Deputy Managing Director Abdul Khaleque Khan addressed the session as chief guest with Mijanur Rahman, Deputy General Manager of ICT Division, in the chair. Abdul Khaleque Khan said there is no alternative to computerization in the competitive banking activities. He asked the branch managers to bring the branch level computerization activities under round the clock monitoring. "We will be capable to improve consumers' services through launching different electronic banking activities like online banking and mobile banking," he asserted. He expects that the electronic banking will facilitate to improve services to the clients in general and said the effort will supplement the government endeavor to build digital Bangladesh to reaching the public services towards people's doorsteps by 2021. As the largest development partner in the agricultural sector of the northwest Bangladesh, RAKUB plays a vital role to earn economic emancipation and free the nation from poverty and hunger through boosting credit-flow to the potential agricultural fields, Khaleque Khan added, according to BSS.
