Banks asked to install CCTV camera

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has asked all scheduled banks to set up IT rooms and install closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to ensure security of all banks and their branches in the country. The directive came in a circular, issued by the Banking Regulation and Policy Department of the central bank and sent to managing directors and chief executive officers of all banks. The circular said that, all banks have to install CCTV camera in information technology-related rooms or at their data centre according to the section no 4.1.2.7 of BB's Guideline on ICT Security for Scheduled Banks and Financial Institutions. In line with the Guideline, all banks were ordered to set up CCTV in their IT rooms, it added, according to a news agency.
