Banning mobile phone in exam halls
Friday, 9 June 2023
Mobile phone has become an integral part of our daily life. It has made our life easy. Nevertheless, there are some restrictions in using mobile phones. For a student, it is prohibited to carry a mobile phone to the examination hall. If students forget the rule and carry a phone to an exam hall, usually they are made to turn it off and drop it in a designated place before the exam starts.
But, it is a matter of frustration that the invigilators in the exam halls do not keep their phones in silent mode or turn it off. Some of these invigilators even receive phone calls in front of examinees. This often distracts and disturbs students. And they find it quite difficult when their teachers talk loudly in the exam hall. Our teachers should avoid this practice, and the rule of using mobile phone should be put in place both for students and teachers.
