The Appellate Division (AD) of the Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday set August 26 to hold election to Bangladesh Bar Council, reports BSS.
The court also directed to publish the voter list by July 30.
A four-member AD panel headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha deferred the date again, allowing a time prayer from council chairman Attorney General Mahbubey Alam.
The election was scheduled to be held on August 13.
The High Court (HC) had postponed on May 21 the polls for three months. The AD had asked on May 28, to publish the corrected voter list by July 12. However, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam submitted on July 07 a petition seeking more time to publish the voter list.
