Barakat elected BEA president

Renowned economist Professor Abul Barakat has been elected president of the Bangladesh Economic Association (BEA).
Toufiq Ahmed Chowdhury was elected general secretary of its executive committees for the next two years unopposed, a BEA office source said.
The election was held Saturday. Ashraf Uddin Chowdhury, Professor Hannana Begum, Dr Jamal Uddin Ahmed, Dr Moazzem Hossen Khan and Syed Yousuf Hossain were elected vice presidents of the association.
