League leader Barisal Division scored 111 for 2 in 32 overs after dismissing Dhaka Division for 175 runs on the first day of the title-deciding final round match of the four-day Ispahani Mirzapore Tea 10th National Cricket League at Narayanganj Osmani Stadium Monday, reports UNB.
Winning the toss, Dhaka Division batted first to score 175 for all in 60.2 overs with former national opener Javed Omar Belim contributing 62 featuring 10 boundaries.
Wicket-keeper Enamul Haque (23), opener Shamsur Rahman (22), Nadif Chowdhury (19) and Mahmudullah Riyad (14) were the other contributors for Dhaka.
Arafat Salauddin, Nasir Hossain and Talha Jubaer picked up three wickets each conceding 18, 22 and 67 runs respectively.
In reply, Barisal Division scored 111 for 2 in 32 overs when the match was stopped at 4.07 pm due to bad light.
Opener Ronny Talukder was batting with 67 runs off 103 balls with nine hits to the fence and one over the fence while one down Hannan Sarker made 38 off 77 deliveries with four boundaries.
Marshall Ayub and Ashraful Aziz took one wicket each conceding 1 and 30 runs respectively.
In the day's other match, Chittagong Division, riding on an unbeaten century by Masumuddowla, scored a moderate 382 for all in 137 overs against hosts Sylhet Division at Sylhet Stadium.
Masumuddowla's 120-run innings in 250 balls was furnished with 11 boundaries while one down Rezaul Karim made a polished 81 off 116 balls hitting 13 fours and one six.
Golam Mowla and Monir Hossain grabbed three wickets each giving away 64 and 97 runs while Imtiaz Hossain took two for 22 runs.
In reply, hosts Sylhet Division also gave a good reply scoring 121 runs for no loss in 32 overs.
Opening duo Golam Rahman and Imtiaz Hossain were batting with 55 and 63 runs respectively.
