Barisal investors incur huge loss due to technical fault in online trading

BARISAL, Sept 3 (UNB) Hundreds of investors of stock market in the city incurred a loss of millions of Taka for last eight days due to technical glitches in online trading with Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE).brMizanur Rahman and Md Shahnewaj Shahin, convener and joint convener of Barisal Investors' Forum, alleged that technical fault in online trading servers of DSE have been halting trading for hours at local brokerage houses in the city since August 25.brBarisal capital market recently gained heavy rush due to direct online transaction facilities. brBarisal office of Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) said that there were more than 42,000 account holders of ICB Barisal branch, more than 1,600 beneficiary owner (BO) accountholders of ICB Securities Trading Company Limited (ISTCL) and more than 900 accounts of ICB Capital Management Limited (ICML), two subsidiary companies of ICB enlisted with DSE and Chittagong Stock Exchanges (CSE).brBesides, about 800 BO accountholders of two branches of private brokerage houses-- Stock Bonds Limited and M Securities Limited-- enlisted only with DSE for daily transactions from Barisal and severely affected by this technical fault.brDue to this technical problem, transaction in Barisal stock market has been declined alarmingly.
