Barrister Amirul calls for disbanding Rab

Alleging that Rab has been given the ‘license to kill’, senior jurist of the country Barrister Amirul Islam on Wednesday demanded that this elite force be disbanded immediately. “Rab has been given the license to kill, set up torture cells and set up a ‘killing industry’….this ‘killing industry’ has to be closed  immediately,” he said while speaking at a lawyers’ rally at the conference room of the Supreme Court Bar Association. The rally was organised under the banner of ‘Narayanganj United Lawyers Society’ demanding the trial of the perpetrators of Narayanganj seven murders, taking steps to stop the incidents of forced disappearance and killing, and establishing the rule of law. Leaders of various Bar Associations across the country, irrespective of their party affiliations, were present at the rally held with eminent jurist Dr Kamal Hossain in the chair, according to a news agency.
