Barrister Shafique elected vice-chairman of Bar Council

President of Supreme Court Bar Association Barrister Shafique Ahmed was Monday unanimously elected vice-chairman of the Bangladesh Bar Council, a statutory body regulating the lawyers, reports UNB.
The vice-chairman election was held at the first meeting of the newly elected members of the Bangladesh Bar Council.
The Bar Council election was held on November 20 to elect its 14 members-seven each from general seats and regional groups' seats.
The meeting was presided over by Attorney General Salahuddin Ahmed, the ex-officio chairman of the Council.
Besides, the meeting formed some standing committees-executive, finance, legal education, enrolment, law reforms, human rights and legal aid, house, relief, publication and vigilance-to operate the body.
