Barua gives Tk 0.1m to Chapa Rani's family

FARIDPUR, Nov 4 (bdnews24.com): Industries minister Dilip Barua handed over a cheque Tk 0.1 million to the family of Chapa Rani Bhoumik, who was killed by a stalker last week.
Roni Saha, the stalker, ran his motorcycle over Chapa Rani (45), an employee of Faridpur Sugar Mill and wife of Swapan Biswas, when she protested Roni's harassment of her daughter.
Arun Kumar Bhowmik, brother of the deceased, filed a murder case Wednesday morning.
On October 30, a special team, comprising Faridpur additional superintendent of police arrested Roni from a motor garage in Aragpur area of Jhenaidah.
Barua visited her house at Garakhola village of Madhukhali Upazila in Faridpur Wednesday at around 12 pm and handed over the cheque to her family.
Prime minister Sheikh Hasina has already provided Tk 0.4 million to Chanpa Rani's daughters so they can continue their studies.
