Bashira Mannan Trust Fund set up at DU

'Bashira Mannan Memorial Lecture Trust Fund' has been set up at Dhaka University (DU) in memory of late Prof Bashira Mannan.
Son of the professor, Bangladeshi Ambassador to Germany, Mosud Mannan ndc Thursday handed over a cheque worth Tk 0.3 million to the DU treasurer Prof Dr Mijanur Rahman to set up the trust fund.
Out of the income, a memorial lecture on women development named after Prof Bashira Mannan will be organised annually in the university marking the birth day of the late professor.
During the cheque hand-over programme, DU Vice-Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique, Acting Dean of the Institute of Social Work and Research Prof Nurul Islam, Porf Nazmul Ahsan Kalimullah of Public Administration Department, Prof Nuzhat Amin Mannan of English Department, Prof Bashira Mannan's son Dr Muzharul Mannan and Registrar Syed Rezaur Rahman, among others, were present on the occasion.
