BASIC Bank opens remittance drive

BASIC Bank Limited has started remittance drive through Western Union Money transfer services.
Managing Director of the bank AKM Sajedur Rahman inaugurated the service in the city's Shantinagar branch recently, said a press release.
Among others, Acting Managing Director of the bank Syed Mahbubur Rahman, general managers Sk Mozur Morshed, Kazi Shamshul Huda and AH Gholam Sangari and Deputy General Manager (International Division) Shahdat Hossain and Country Manager of Western Union Md Syed Mohammad Kamal and Senior Vice President of National Bank Limited Abdus Sobhan Khan were present on the occasion.
Addressing the function, Mr Rahman expressed the hope that if the remittance could be financed to develop the industrial sector of the country it would develop the overall economy of the country.
It will also help generate employment opportunities for the unemployed people thus play positive role in poverty alleviation of the country.
