ICT skill of madrasa students

BASIS institute partners with JCI Dhaka West

BASIS Institute of Technology & Management (BITM) in partnership with JCI Dhaka West has recently launched a project to enhance the ICT skill of underprivileged Madrasha students in the country.
To this effect, both the organisations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to implement the project styled as 'White Cap', a BITM statement said on Saturday.
Under the project, the shortlisted participants will be facilitated with individual computer-related soft skills for multiple courses followed by certification and provide them necessary resources along with tiffin, mentorship and some job placement which will make their understanding more robust.
The statement also said a recent study revealed that the total number of madrasa students in Bangladesh is around 15 million whereas 75 per cent of madrasa students remain unemployed in different forms as they have no opportunity to get jobs based on their education and skills.
Without proper skill-based ICT education their contribution to the society and competitive job market is impossible
As a part of the Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) activities, BITM has been involved with this fantastic initiative and with this "we want to contribute to the quality education goal for achieving the SDGs", BITM CEO Talukder Mohammad Shabbir said.
The country's journey towards Digital Bangladesh may not be accomplished if any community is left behind, Local President of JCI Dhaka West Md. Altamis Nabil said.
"We will fill the gap and ignite the true potential from those candidates," he said. "In future we are aiming to train the trainers among Madrasa teachers to increase the periphery of this learning among the Madrasa students."
All the madrasa students aged below 21 years across the country are encouraged to apply at www.bitm.org.bd/whitecap or call 01826325232 by 10th May and shortlisted candidates will get the opportunity to enroll for this 2-month course with full scholarships.
Bdapps, Bangladesh Positive Foundation, Lightshore Foundation, PencilBox Training Institute are the partners of this initiative.
