BASIS, JETRO to work together for ICT development

Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and Japan External Trade Organization (JERTO), the national trade and investment association of Japan, will work together to increase Japanese Investment in the ICT sector of Bangladesh, says a press release.
A meeting was held between BASIS President Mr. Shameem Ahsan and the country representative of JETRO Kei Kawano in the city Thursday. BASIS Secretary General Uttam Kumar Paul and Joint Secretary General Mostafizur Rahman Sohel were also present, among others.
Kei Kawano said the present generation of Japan has a very positive perception about Bangladesh. A lot of organisations including Japanese government are now willing to invest in Bangladesh. It will be possible to increase Japanese investment in the ICT sector of Bangladesh if JETRO and BASIS work together.
BASIS President Shameem Ahsan added a number of Bangladeshi IT companies have already been working with Japan. BASIS has organised B2B matchmaking between the companies of the two countries.
BASIS is relentlessly working to intensify the business relation with different countries and to develop human resources. BASIS is also interested to work with JETRO.
Shameem Ahsan also mentioned that an MoU will be signed very soon between BASIS and JETRO about the business relation in the IT sector of Japan and Bangladesh.
