BASIS to hold SoftExpo Mar 19-21

The 15th edition of BASIS SoftExpo-2019 is scheduled to be held from March 19 to 21, creating a hub for local and international ICT companies, key policymakers and ICT stakeholders.
This year the ICT Division and Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) will jointly organise the SoftExpo-2019 at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), with the slogan 'Technology for Prosperity'.
Besides, Leveraging ICT for Growth, Employment and Governance Project (LICT) and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) will be the Zone Partner of Industry at the expo to be held in a wide spectrum, which would be one of the largest ICT expositions in this region.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the ICT Division and BASIS to this effect, in presence of Post, Telecommunications and ICT Minister Mustafa Jabbar.
The minister said the expansion and development of local ICT sector is the heart of Digital Bangladesh. Local ICT sector has been contributing from the very beginning to the development of Digital Bangladesh.
BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir said BASIS SoftExpo will help the local IT companies expand their business. It's a platform to showcase the capability of local software companies in the international arena, he added.
ICT Secretary N M Zeaul Alam, Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) Executive Director Parthapratim Deb, LICT Project Director Md. Rezaul Karim and LICT Component Team Leader Sami Ahmed and BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir were present at the signing ceremony.
BASIS SoftExpo is the annual mega exposition and the largest showcase of IT and ITES products and services in the private sector of Bangladesh.
This year more than 250 national and international IT companies will be showcasing their products and services in the exposition.
