Iran is contemplating recruitment of unskilled, semi-skilled and professional manpower from Bangladesh, Foreign Adviser Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury said Wednesday, reports UNB.
"Iran is currently analysing our manpower potentials," he told reporters after a meeting with Iranian Ambassador Hassan Farazandeh at the Foreign Ministry.
Chowdhury said the Ambassador has told him he is already in communication with Tehran about possibilities of taking from Bangladesh all categories of workers-unskilled, semi-skilled and professionals.
He said the meeting also focussed on the follow up on the decisions taken at the Joint Economic Commission (JEC) held in Tehran in June last year. The Adviser said possibilities of greater cooperation in areas such as communications, banking and energy were also discussed.
The Ambassader handed over to the Adviser a letter from Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, expressing the hope for expanding bilateral relations.
