BATB approves 70pc dividend

The 35th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) Company Limited was held at a city hotel Tuesday. The AGM was chaired by its Chairman and Managing Director Nicholas S Hales, says a press release.
A large number of shareholders attended the meeting and unanimously passed the accounts for the year that ended on December 31, 2007, directors' report and the auditor's report.
The shareholders also approved the proposed dividend of Tk. 7.00 per share.
In 2007, the company generated Tk 27.27 billion as value added tax, supplementary duty and other taxes.
Md Nurul Amin, director, MA Mokaddem, director, Amanda Cavill de Zavaley, finance director, Sazzad Rahim Chowdhury, finance controller, Golam Mainuddin, deputy managing director, Nicholas S Hales, chairman and managing director, Md Mahbubur Rahman, director & company secretary. Md Ziaul Haque Khondker, director and Kamrul Hasan, director, attended the meeting, among others.
