BATB wins Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Award

British American Tobacco Bangladesh (BATB) has won Asia’s top business award, ‘Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Award (AREA)-2014 on Green Leadership’.
The award was handed over to BATB in a grand ceremony in New Delhi, India recently.
Liberation War Affairs Secretary KH Masud Siddiqui and Independent Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of BATB received the award on behalf of the organisation.
BATB was awarded for its afforestation programme as the company has planted over 79 million saplings since 1980.
Enterprise Asia’s Asia Responsible Entrepreneurship Awards (AREA) programme (AREA) recognises and honours Asian businesses for championing sustainable and responsible entrepreneurship in the categories: Green Leadership, Investment in People, Health Promotion, Social Empowerment, SME CSR and Responsible Business Leadership, according to a news agency.
