Battery operated autos growing in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Mar 14: Battery operated three-wheeler auto-rickshaws are rapidly increasing in Nilphamari district. At present more than 2000 such auto-rickshaws are plying for the last one year. Sources said in the Nilphmari district nearly all the three wheelers are plying without any licence. While contacted one official of Nilphamari Municipality told this correspondent that they did not issue any license for the auto-rickshaws. But as a green vehicle and quick conveyance passengers are find the vehicles very handy. It is gathered each driver of an auto-rickshaws is earning an estimated 500 to 600 taka per day while the owners of the same are earning 300 to 400 taka per day by leasing those to the drivers. However zero carbon emission vehicles are contributing a lot to the owners, drivers as well as the passengers.
