BAU student Saad killing accused held

Police arrested an accused in the case for killing Saad Inbe Momtaz, a student of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh, from a house in Gaibandha on Saturday. The arrested is Antar Chowdhury. Acting on a tip off, a team of police conducted a drive at Godown Road in the district town and arrested Antar from a house in the morning, said Rafiul Islam, officer-in-charge of Gaibandha Sadar Police Station. Saad, a final year student of Fisheries Faculty of the BAU, was beaten to death allegedly by activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League BAU unit. On April 9, BAU authorities expelled three students from the university and suspended another three for various terms as the Board of Residence and Students Disciplinary Committee at a meeting recommended the actions, according to UNB.
