KUSHTIA, Jun 08 (UNB): Miscreants allegedly vandalised the akhra (den) of a Baul ascetic in a remote area of Mirpur upazila of Kushtia on Friday night.
Though police inspected the area, no criminals involved with this are yet to be detained.
It was learned that Baul Nishan Ali and his paternal cousins beat a painter named Rohel Sheikh who allegedly had been delaying in repaying a loan to the cousins on June 6.
Locals and police suspected that Rohel and his cohorts vandalised the den at any time of Friday night. The den is located in the remote area on a canal bank of Ganges-Kobadak Irrigation Project.
The baul defended himself saying that the cousins' problems are being shifted to him and he hasn't been involved with this.
