BB gets two new DGs

The government on Wednesday announced the appointment of two deputy governors (DG) for Bangladesh Bank (BB) from the current officials of the central bank.
The appointees are the central bank's chief economist, Md Habibur Rahman, and executive director, Md Khurshid Alam.
Their appointments are on a contractual basis, spanning a period of three years. The Financial Institution Division of the Ministry of Finance issued two separate notifications regarding these appointments.
With these new additions, the number of deputy governors at BB has now reached four.
The notifications specified that the duo has been appointed as deputy governors under the condition of voluntarily resigning from their current positions and suspending their post-retirement leave.
