BB governor pays homage to Rana Plaza victims

Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Atiur Rahman has always emphasized deepening and broadening social responsibility in line with corporate objectives of scheduled banks and non-bank financial institutions of the country visioning a humane central bank.
The financial sector has sufficiently enthused with this motivation to stand beside the Rana Plaza tragedy victims, according to a BB press release.
Humbly remembering those workers and rescuers who lost their lives on April 24 last year, the BB chief in a statement said. "Let's all of us work together to avoid any such tragedy". He issued the statement marking the first anniversary of the Rana Plaza tragedy.
One year ago "the Rana Plaza" building housing five apparel factories on the outskirts of Dhaka collapsed, killing around 1,130 people, mostly women.
