Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Dr Atiur Rahman Monday called for making a business plan to engage corporate entities, including banks and other financial institutions, with the academia for grooming enlightened professionals.
His call was directed toward the authorities of Dhaka University, the premier seat of higher education.
The central bank governor was unveiling a student-run magazine titled 'The Voice of Business' at the DU Business Faculty as chief guest.
He said once the authorities make the plan, the financial sector will come forward to help in this regard.
"We need to prepare our students with the modern skills to increase their productivity capacity," the governor said about the need for such integration of education with profession.
He underscored the need for providing the university students with the most updated schooling facilities to prepare the nation in line with the changing world. "We are thinking about the matter," the governor told the meet.
Terming the meeting 'fruitful and effective', the governor said they are working to build capacity of the country's largest and oldest university students as they will lead the nation in future.
"Every student, after getting admission into the university, should have a personal computer and other modern schooling facilities," he noted.
And they are working to this end.
He said that every room of the residential dormitory   need be transformed into a 'multinational company' as currently students can earn huge money from their own room through freelancing.
