BB Governor urges LankaBangla to contribute to economic progress

Bangladesh Bank (BB) Governor Salehuddin Ahmed urged LankaBangla to contribute meaningfully to the economic development of the country taking into consideration its social values and moral ethos. He also urged it continue to serve the society as well as the nation.
The BB governor, who was the chief guest, said this at a programme recently organised at a city hotel to mark 10 years of the business operations of LankaBangla Finance Ltd, a joint-venture financial institution (FI) established with multinational collaboration to create a single window of financial services in the country.
LankaBangla has been operating in the country since 1997. The FI has a team of over 130 professionals at seven locations including Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylhet to serve a diverse group of clients in areas of lease financing, term loans, mortgage, domestic factoring of receivables, merchant banking, stock broking and credit card operations.
Terming the period as a decade of trust, innovation and advancement, LankaBangla Chairman Mohammad A Moyeen said the company evolved over the years to fulfill the initial dream to become a leading financial institution of the country.
LankaBangla Managing Director Mafizuddin Sarker highlighted the culture and spirit that flows within the organisation that helps in meeting and exceeding customer needs.
Sampath Bank, Sri Lanka Managing Director Anil Amarasuriya delivered his speech on behalf of the foreign directors of the company.
