BB raises spending limit for foreign travels

The Bangladesh Bank (BB) has decided to allow travellers to spend up to $12,000 a year during foreign trips. Previously, the limit was $7,000. There is also good news for travellers carrying cash. From now on, they can take with them up to $3,000 each time they travel abroad while earlier the maximum limit was $2,000. Moreover, in a circular issued on Sunday, the bank said travellers could spend up to $5,000 while visiting SAARC countries and Myanmar. The ceiling earlier was $2,000. They can now spend $7,000 during trips to other countries. The permissible amount was $5,000 earlier, according to a news agency.
