BB signs MoU with BUILD

Bangladesh Bank and Business Initiative Leading Development (BUILD) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aiming to expand cooperation between the two entities. The MoU was signed at the 3rd meeting of the Financial Sector Development Working Committee (FSDWC) of BUILD recently, said a press release of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry. M Abul Quasem, deputy governor of the central bank, and Asif Ibrahim, chairman of BUILD Board of Trustees, and its member Anis A Khan signed the MoU on behalf of their respective sides. Representatives from public sector and different important private sector associations and bodies were present at the meeting. Two research reports with policy recommendations on Export Development Fund and Foreign Exchange policies for Pharmaceuticals Sector were presented by the BUILD chief executive officer. In addition to these issues, areas were identified by the concerned private sector representatives where BUILD will focus its research in near future. BUILD is a joint initiative of DCCI, Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and the SME Foundation, according to a news agency.
