BB supports MRDI CSR initiative

Bangladesh Bank has extended support to MRDI's initiative for paying back to Birangonas (war heroines)- the nation's pride, as a noble act and to strengthen advocacy for CSR among different stakeholders and expand the field of CSR operations as a mainstream tool for social development.
A ceremony was organised on this occasion at the Jahangir Alam Conference hall of Bangladesh Bank for signing MoU and handing over cheques to development actors from the "Disaster Management and Social Responsibility Fund" of the central bank.
 The Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman said, this assistance to the development organizations is not huge in amount but it is expected to create a great impact on the banks and other corporate houses to come forward to support sustainable development initiatives as a part of their CSR activities, said a statement.
