Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has urged Bangladesh Bank to keep all the scheduled banks open on the upcoming Saturday, September 19, to facilitate the necessary financial transactions.
It was earlier officially declared that the central bank and all scheduled banks of the country will remain closed on September 18 on the occasion of the holy Shab-e-Qadar and the holy Jum'atul Wida as well as September 20, 21 and 22 on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
"As a result of the five-day long holidays, business people would find difficulties in depositing the turnover of their sold commodities in banks before the upcoming Eid," DCCI said in a press release.
