BBS ICT Training Lab opened

Planning Minister Air Vice Marshal (retd) AK Khandker, MP, inaugurated a modern ICT training laboratory of BBS under "Strengthening ICT Training and System of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics" project assisted by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Sunday.
Kim Chang Sup, resident representative of KOICA Bangladesh Office, and Shahjahan Ali Mollah, director general of Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, were also present at the opening ceremony.
The Planning Minister said that South Korea, an Asian big economy was a very good friend of Bangladesh.
He expected that KOICA's assistance for developing infrastructure for training, ICT and Statistical Data Management System will help BBS to play pioneering role in the years to come for achieving 'Vision 2021' set by the government.
Mr. Kim said that KOICA put much importance in developing the ICT sector of Bangladesh.
He believed this project will upgrade the Statistics Production and Analysis Capacity of BBS as well as improve the ability of the Bureau of Statistics Officials through training in the newly established ICT Training Labs which will contribute to the economic planning and development process of Bangladesh.
