BCB Academy crush Tasmania by 132 runs in 3-day match

The GP-BCB National Cricket Academy team crushed Tasmania by 132 runs in a three-day match of the Crocodile Cup at the University Ground Tuesday. After having a comfortable 295-run lead, the touring Academy team resumed batting in the 2nd innings with overnight 139 for 6 and added 22 more runs before declaring on 161/8 in the morning on third day, reports UNB.
Sahagir Hossain Pavel returned to the pavilion with his overnight score of 34 runs off 64 balls that included 4 fours while Nayeem Islam remained unbeaten on 34 off 62 balls.
Chasing a stiff target of 318, Tasmania were all out for 185 in 67 overs in the face of some tight bowling.
After losing four quick wickets for 30 runs, the hosts showed sign of recovery as number six Wells and opener Irvine added 89 runs in the 5th wicket stand before left-arm spinner Enamul Haque Jr. removed Irvine to break the partnership.
Wells contributed innings highest 56 runs off 118 balls with seven fours while Irvine made 42 off 163 balls with two fours.
Enamul Jr claimed four wickets while Robin, Mosharraf and skipper Mehrab Jr took two wickets apiece.
Earlier, replying to BCB Academy's first innings total of 308 for 7 (declared), Tasmania were all out for 152.
The visiting Academy team will take on Northern Territory Strike in a one-day match at the Marrara Cricket Ground Friday.
