BCB director resigns following change of government
Tuesday, 20 August 2024
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)'s cricket operation chairman Jalal Yunus resigned from his post with immediate effect. Jalal, who is also a director of the board, confirmed the development to Cricbuzz on Monday.
"I have resigned from the board for the interest of cricket," Jalal said. He is the first director to resign from the current board which is under scrutiny since the government has changed following the student protests that forced the Awami League government to resign on August 05.
Changes are expected to come in the board in the future as BCB president Nazmul Hasan also wished to resign from his post in the interest of cricket and cooperate with the government.
Jalal and Sazzadul Alam were nominated to the board as directors through the National Sports Council (NSC) quota, as the constitution allows NSC to have five councilors on the board, with the authority to appoint two of them as directors in the 25-member board of directors.
