BCB likely to make changes in Tigers' coaching staff

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is likely to make changes in their coaching set-up following the ongoing ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, according to Cricbuzz.
A BCB source confirmed the development to the online sports portal and added that future of head coach Chandika Hathurusingha and assistant coach Nick Pothas is not under cloud at the moment since they only joined the team in the months leading up to the World Cup. That said, there is no guarantee that will remain the case if the pair doesn't come up with results.
It is understood that BCB is not interested in extending the contract of their pace bowling coach Allan Donald and spin bowling coach Rangana Herath along with their fielding coach Shane McDermott.
Meanwhile, team's analyst Shrinivas Chandrasekaran is all set to quit his position after the showpiece tournament in India, albeit for personal reasons. Shrinivas, who joined the team in 2017, told the BCB officials that he couldn't continue further after this tournament due to excessive travel.
BCB offered him a contract extension to be with the national set-up after the ongoing global event but he refused to accept it.
Shrinivas told the online sports portal that he couldn't continue further after this tournament due to excessive travel. "Yeah not going to continue." he confirmed. "BCB was kind enough to offer me but I declined since my father passed away it has become extremely difficult to leave my mom and wife alone at home and travel."
Hathurusingha, who previously coached the team from 2014 to 2017, has signed a two-year contract with the BCB, starting in February 2023 replacing Russell Domingo as the latter quit from his post without completing his tenure. Assistant coach Nick Pothas signed a two-year contract only in April.
Bangladesh have lost five matches on a trot in the ongoing ICC World Cup that skipper Shakib al Hasan termed as their worst performance in the global tournament in the recent past.
Earlier, BCB decided not to continue with Steve Rhodes following their dismal performance in the last World Cup and the two separated on mutual terms but it looked that the Englishman was made a scapegoat.
