BCB name AB Bank as national team sponsor for 20-20 World Championship

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Sunday named ABBank Limited sponsors of the national team for the upcoming Twenty20World Championship to be held in South Africa on September 11-24, reports UNB.
As per the sponsorship conditions, the national cricketers will wear jersey and cap with AB Bank logo during the tournament.
The private sector bank earlier won the sponsorship rights as thehighest bidder through open tender, ahead of the other two bidders -- Ispahani Group and Exim Technologies. AB Bank made a bid of Tk 10,20,000.
BCB's marketing and commercial committee vice chairman Salim Bhuiyan disclosed the details at a press conference at a city hotel in the afternoon.
BCB's media and communications committee vice chairman Ishtiaque Ahmed, and AB Bank vice chairman Sajedur Seraj and managing director Kaiser A Chowdhury also spoke on the occasion.
AB Bank managing director Kaiser A Chowdhury said they have been sponsoring various sports like golf, table tennis and badminton along with the Siraj Memorial Cricket from where some top level national players came out.
Bangladesh, placed in Group A of the first-ever Twenty20 World Championship with South Africa and West Indies, will play their first match against West Indies on September 13 in Johannesburg and the 2nd match against South Africa on Sept 15 in Cape Town.
