BCB takes decision on Club Cup, NCL one-day meet

Thursday, 20 May 2010

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has taken important decisions regarding this season's National Cricket League one day competition and the National Club Cup Cricket Championship in its 18th Meeting (adjourned) held at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in the city Tuesday, reports BSS.
BCB in its meeting took decision that the National Cricket League one day competition for the 2009-10 season will not be held due to the on-going construction work for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 at major venues of the country. They also took in consideration of the weather-factor with the monsoon approaching. The Board also felt that the top cricketers of the country need time to recover as they have been engaged in a very long and busy domestic and international season.
The National Club Cup Cricket Championship 2009-10, which had been planned in April this year, has been deferred and will be staged at the beginning of the next cricket season. The Board took this decision as local leagues of a good number of districts is yet to be completed.
